Features
Astonishing 125x optical zoom and 250x Dynamic Fine Zoom
Just when you thought that the P900’s already amazing 83x zoom lens was unbeatable, the Nikon Coolpix P1000 gets released with 125x optical zoom and 250x Dynamic Fine Zoom. This means that the P1000 features an optical 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-3000mm, or 24-6000mm with the assistance of Nikon’s digital Dynamic Fine Zoom. This will allow you to shoot both macro shots of close subjects, or distant subjects not even visible to the naked eye. If you lose sight of your subject while zoomed in, press the Snap-Back Zoom button for a quick zoomed-out view, find your subject again and then release the button, the lens will zoom right back in and you can continue with shooting.
5.0-stop optical Dual Detect vibration reduction (VR)
The Nikon P1000’s lens features an intelligent 5 stop optical vibration reduction system, for worry free shooting. The camera and lens processes information taken from an angular velocity sensor, as well as the image itself, for extremely precise camera-shake compensation This will allow users to shoot handheld at speeds up to 32 times slower than non-stabilised (non-VR) lenses, and helps capture steady videos and sharp, blur free pictures in low light and when zoomed in.
4k Ultra HD Video with Stereo Sound
Unlike its predecessor, you can now record beautiful video footage in 4K UHD at 30 fps, by bringing all cinematic vision to life which is all thanks to its impressive lens and the much faster image processor that’s been incorporated.
RAW image capture
Unlike its predecessor, The Nikon P1000 features RAW image capture. By capturing RAW files, users will be able to further push post processing for even more accurate colours, wider dynamic range and improve noise reduction.
Large 3.2 inch Swiveling Vari-angle display
Flip out the P1000’s large 3.2 inch Vari-angle display and effortlessly capture photos and videos from creative perspectives—overhead, down low or just comfortably in front of you. Anti-reflective coating, 6-level brightness adjustment, and 921k-dot resolution provides a clear display, even in strong light.
Great for vlogging – front facing screen, 4K, & 3.5mm stereo microphone jack
The Nikon Coolpix P1000 has all the features that a good vlogging camera needs; 4K UHD video recording, a wide 24mm lens, an lcd that can face to the front, and of course an external 3.5mm microphone input.
Shoot and Share with a Compatible Smartphone
You can now show off all your astonishing images with friends and family which is all thanks to Nikon’s SnapBridge app for IOS and Android. Easily pair your camera with your device via its Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. Once you’re connected then you can transfer photos/videos from your camera straight to your device.
Pop-up flash & hot shoe
The Coolpix P1000 features a nifty little pop-flash to help illuminate dark subjects. If more, or constant, lighting is required then a speedlight, flashgun, or video led can be mounted on top of the hot shoe. The hot shoe can also support other accessories such as microphones and brackets
Quarter of the weight of super-telephoto lens & DSLR and even more inexpensive
At just 1.4 kg, the Nikon P100 camera is less than a quarter of the weight of an SLR camera with super-telephoto lens attached making it much easier to manage when shooting handheld. It is also way more inexpensive.
